To all GM & SAAB dealers out there using Tire Rack

To all GM & SAAB dealers out there using Tire Rack

Postby LOWAIRD1964 » Wed Oct 07, 2015 11:33 am

I was curious how you guys bill out tires bought from Tire Rack. We are a GM dealer and SAAB OSC. We have been selling tires for approx. 5 years now heavily. Before GM really got into selling we would just use a generic part # for all tires sold. Now this becomes a pain if someone has a warranty situation and you need another tire in a week, month, etc. Now with the GM tire program, selling fm tire became a lot easier on us but I am still having issues with Saab. I don't do a lot of tires through Tire Rack but once and a while I'll need to meet a price or need a tire right away and no one else has it. Saab doesn't have any part numbers in the comp that Reynolds recognizes. Any suggestions on how I should be selling the tire rack tires? And what I mean is should I add every part number into the system. We did combine both our 243 and 243s accounts. Thanx for any help.

Have you tried converting the OEM tire part number over to the GM part number in gmtirebilling . com,
that is if they are main stream brand name tires

Remy-I can do that but i am always scared that it is screwing inventory numbers. When I purchase through Tire Rack, it is through the SAAB tire program so its going into my SAAB inventory. And if I bill it under a GM # it would be relieveing my GM inventory I believe. But we do have both 243 and 243s linked together so I not sure if its messing with my numbers or not?

Well, if they are not counting the SAAB Vins, as GM, which wouldn't go against Sales Loyalty... Use the OE tire part number that way you would know what was purchased in the past...

We do this all the time with Nexen or Kumho tires, we use their part number and just source them as Tires so they debit correctly from 243,

I use the GM program for all my tires. Unless the price it to high I get them off the program. GM has a decent program but a lot of times the discounts direct work out to be more than the kick back from GM. And I bill them out at the GM number as a part
