How many of us have left the dealership environment, only to want it back because the outside world just doesn't make sense? Its like life at Shawshank. You become institutionalized and used to the constant fighting. When you get out, a part of you misses it. Am I alone?

I left two years ago after 15 years.....still miss it. I left to go to managing the heavy duty truck parts inventories on mobile repair trucks across the country. No weekends, no bell to bell, I get home to see my kids before 7pm-8pm at night, the ability to work from home, and I get to travel across the US. With all that being said I will still seriously consider if the $$ was right to go back to being a parts manager. Call me nuts...but its the truth.

I left for 4 years, went to a local parts store as MGR, regular hours, no weekends, good money. Corporate America bought our company and turned that nice little stress job into a 60 hour a week all out stress job. Left and came back to the GM world after 8 years being away and am loving my job again...
