Tell me Why?

Tell me Why?

Postby Bravepart » Tue Dec 01, 2015 12:59 am

Why exactly are the List and Trade prices not going to show on the EPC and GM price tapes, and then we will have to take another step or two into TheirPriceLink, before we can tell a customer how much a part will cost them? Unless I'm missing something, this will take longer and time is really getting shorter everyday. Somebody fill me in please.

It's because GM wants you to be creative with your pricing.

I'm still trying to figure out why a walk in customer who needs a price on a hood for example should get a "competative price" on said hood. Should they not pay what retail is not the price the insurance company gets or am I just reading to much into this fiasco. :?:
I also have a Body Shop manager that doesn't do any more than needed to write estimates and will be bothering me all day for prices because he doesn't want to be "bothered" with price link or collision link

So I entered a bumper number on mypricelink, It shows list and trade, where exactly do we find dealer cost if our price tape doesn't have it either? Couldn't get price tape to work yesterday, downloading now going on an hour....

Because GM wants the mega dealers to sell all the parts and the little dealers to DIE.

Because the geniuses at General Motors no longer cares about you. Everybody knows that a dealership parts department is a store within a store and the General has thought of every way possible to keep us from being creative. The stupid programs they shove down our throats have lost us tons of business and I can prove it. They simply do not understand that a commodity, any commodity is worth what someone is willing to pay for it and in our business it is not the same in every area. A good, dedicated, creative parts manager used to able to make a huge difference at a dealership. This “my price link” thing is just one more stupid program that will eventually fail. I sure seems like the morons who came up with this never stepped foot in a dealership.

So all these estimating programs already have the list prices in them. I've done a few parts trader quotes and they all had accurate list prices, per mypricelink. So we have to jump through these hoops...for what exactly? Also.. they could at least give you PDC locations or something along with prices so we wouldn't have to type all these numbers in like seventeen times to do one order.

Cost is there... And so is list and trade this month, though they aren't the same as the prices I'm getting from pricelink ;)
