5.75/qt dexos 0/20

If GM does change cost, I am not sure if I will come off my pricing. We are the oil change mecca in our area and we have decided to be profitable on CP oil changes.

Scott, Thank You for sharing this. A couple of questions if I may ask them?
What does your service department charge for a oil change?
What does your service department end up making on labor for oil changes?

I am way low on what I charge for oil. I've tried to share in the "loss leader" so that service can make a couple dollars for the oil change.
I charge;
3.60/qt 5w30 reg #12345610
7.85/qt Mobil 1 #12345885
4.60/qt dexos 5w30 #19293000
6.32/qt dexos 2 #88865157
4.60/qt dexos 0w20 #19259487
I've added to your list;
9.44/qt dexos 2 Mobil Super 3000 #88864041

I'll have to adjust upward slowly to not upset the apple cart.

Click on "Departments" at the top of the GlobalDisconnect page, then "Parts" from the dropdown, it will be under the "Headlines" and you may have to click on "view all". GCUS-9-1549 is the message number if that helps.

*edit: Looks like you were on the Parts page...just click the "view all" under Headlines and you should see it.

Let me also add that my oil filters start at 9.99 and go to 12.50 some cartridges.
That being said, service charges 11.25 IN labor and have three 8.00/hr lube techs from 7-5:30.

So, a 2002 C1500 with 6qts of oil is 49.44 after tax. 99% of my CP oil changes are over 45.00
If coupons are presented, they are split 50/50 between parts and service advertising.

Hope that helps. The new owner bought into my prices when he saw the profit dollars it generated. And what it really did for us, is weed out those people that just came for the cheap oil change and car wash.
Even at those prices, we still retained approx. 90% or more of our oil change business.

GM is already fussing about us lowering our cost of oil in the DMS system. Well, until I BUY oil at the new cost and get invoiced, I paid more for the oil I'm selling, and I'm not giving away $1,400 (average of $1/gallon on my inventory of about 1,500 gallons total).
