Why does the RIM program still exist?

It is getting to the point where I feel the need to generate my daily stock order as I did in the days before "ream" was around. I could understand if they were parts that didn't sell, but c'mon guys. Timing chain kits for 2.4L ECOTECs, NOX sensors for DMAX trucks, the list of throttle bodies and/or throttle position sensor kits for numerous vehicles, pretty much ANY recall part...I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones I find myself checking on a daily basis, making sure that I order when sold. Am I the only one that feels this way? Is there light at the end of this tunnel (and if so, is it a train)? /rant off.
What about you guys and gals...do you have a list of parts that you check on the regular, or a system in place to ensure you aren't explaining to your techs/advisors/customers why you don't have any of these common items when they come looking for them? Share with the class.
