Valve Cover Recall Part 2

The photo I published earlier - credit should have been given to our Parts Manager. He took the photo. It was deemed necessary to show our PDC the problem we are facing. Apparently they were unaware.

Finally got some of these recall parts in today...40 valve covers I ordered on 3/9. Doesn't do me a whole lot of good without gaskets now though does it? Thanks GM

The ones I've had on order are finally trickling in too, but still don't have gaskets either.

Had my first supercharged one two days ago. Ordered the valve cover and gasket, it came in the next day.

I just had a N/A cover in a S/C cover box. I had read about some gasket mix ups, but I never had any of those. Just a heads up for others, may wanna take a look in the box and double check before getting the customer in to find out it's wrong. Date code was 16040-755 on mine.

I am convinced that GM is using REAM to manage their inventory. We are just a little pissant dealership and besides the valve cover fiasco, we have 6 or 7 other orders we have made spac cases and most are long term(several weeks and still no parts). I cannot imagine how many the big dealerships have.

I ran our backorder report from Jan 1 to now and we have 31 legit backorders. Plus there are at least 3 SPAC cases back into 2015. And that doesn't even count the RVW items that aren't technically on backorder.

It has been how long since this recall was released? I can't understand that they do not have a sufficient supply of valve covers and gaskets by now. They should have been producing thousands per day at best, this recall was issued in February and it is now April.
