BD Laser Max key cutting question

BD Laser Max key cutting question

Postby cain555 » Mon Apr 04, 2016 6:18 pm

My guys constantly bend the tracer on this unit, but no one seems to know why. Anyone else have this problem? It was recalibrated recently... thanks!

Our issue was paying attention to the "trace" key being flat on the jaw and most importantly the tip depth slide that will vary from key to key.

The machine also 'jumps' on it's own a lot, breaking the trace bit and cutting bit, a major reason why we ended up switching to the ILCO machine.

The machine's engineer spent 5 hours at our dealership, once we got our 4th machine, and was unable to make it function properly. We just learned to live with it, and begin charging a code/cut charge to compensate the bad cut keys as well as the tracer tips & cutting blades.

We charge other dealers $15.00 to cut laser keys and for customers we charge $35.00 to get the code and cut a key.
