GM RESPONSE TO ISSUE 4392: "4.8.16- Per Elizabeth Struck Senior RIM Analyst I called Johnny and explained that part is not being managed by RIM due to a recall, bulletin number 14882. He said he doesn’t see that part number on that bulletin. I told him I could send this inquiry to the recall team to give him more detail and he said there was no need."

MY RESPONSE: Interesting that the recall has a note regarding other related parts, just above the ONE part listed in the "Parts Information" section which reads: "Note: Use the vehicle identification number (VIN), SI and the GM Electronic Parts Catalog to determine which parts to order. The Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Replacement procedure in SI states what parts are required to complete the repair. For example, gaskets, one-time use fasteners, and fluids." instead of listing ALL parts required for the necessary repairs, as it should have.

Those who try out for American Ninja Warrior have easier obstacles to overcome!

You're right, NO sense at all! You have to really dig to find it in there. And to add insult to injury: today we received 5 valve cover gaskets from RIM, which are in Recall 15757!!!

Whether its a 22741672 or 12675579 or anything that is not RIM managed I put in a different source. I run a little stock order for that stuff every day at the time of ordering. (usually 1-5 parts). it eliminates me asking the counter guys what we are out of that might be a recall part or not RIM managed. Before I had to check daily walking around and remembering what to order. RIM puts out a message to us once in a while letting us know what is not managed anymore. Most of the part numbers don't make sense, but I don't bother and just order. My DMS (ADP) tells me how much to order based on the demand I have setup .
