19205568 Stop using this number!

Postby MultiLineManager » Mon Aug 01, 2016 1:34 pm

As of 7/25 you can't use the 19205568 inflators anymore. I don't know if GM sent out any real alert bulletins, but if they did I missed it. Any inflators that you have for customers they will take back on return, but they are rejecting any RO's that haven't been closed before 7/25. Run through your shelves to make sure you don't have any held for appointments!

The new bulletins have the airbag and a harness. The airbag is different for different year but the harness is the same.

Yes, thanks. We did pull all of ours, cancelled 2 backorders and even still had one in transit from 075. I actually liked having them in stock because were a Pontiac dealer and have done hundreds of these. This alternative fix of replacing the entire airbag sucks because GM's game of 1 per order, can't order for stock, national control, spac case, don't make the apt till their part is here, turn away customers that came in for an oil change but we cant do your recall, blah blah blah. The only redeeming part is the $700 sale.

Have not seen anything about special return yet. Does this mean I can send back my pallet with the 80+ warranty inflators that were replaced?

I mentioned this in the other thread but Toyota wanted us to use the old #s we still had before switching to the new one that is actually a complete airbag assembly now.

I was told by someone at Toyota that the only reason for the switch was it was easier for the manufacture to supply the entire unit, with a different inflator (the small round type vs, the cylinder type) then to continue supplying just the inflator(cylinder type)
