Extra Recall Parts

Been looking in the P&P manuals and do not see, but is there any other process to return new recall parts back to GM without having to use reserve funds ?

That's right. They took away the option to send back unused recall parts after 1 year with no sales.......it's all about GM, like the feeling?

Come on with all the discounts we get, use that huge return fund you have. That 1% should go a long way to help. I pleaded my case with my reps. the other week about this same thing. We need some assistance in getting rid of things like this. We try and have the things on hand for the customers so we can provide them with the service they expect. It would be nice if GM gave us the same consideration back by allowing us to send special policy and recall parts back without eating into our return reserve. We can always dream right.

I sent back a lot of recall parts using the PC-659 form and MR Reason code 12 (special). Most recently (back in 2015) the Ignition Switch recall parts customers stuck us with, and R/V seat belt sleeves.
You must reference which recall # it was for in the comments, and fill in all the blanks, of course.

I tried it a few months back, and was told that policy was no longer in effect, that we had to use reserve.

If GM would do this ,then if one of us needed one of those parts, you could actually ORDER and RECIEVE that item, there would be factory stock, but that wouldn't be near as much fun.

If that were the case it would have been approved, my PDC Liaison loves me, and so did the one that was there before.

returning recall parts is a cinch . if you do not abuse the system and order 100 and then send back 50 that's abuse. If you have a legitimate return with an excuse they normally will take that back using a PC659. I sent back 23409301 and 23409302 last week no problems. They Field Scrapped.

You have to file a special return code 12 using a manual pc659. Make sure you indicate the recall number in the notes and it helps if you send a copy of it too..
