Salesman LOL

Postby CTSVOWNER » Sat Nov 19, 2016 3:51 pm

One of our salesmen told a customer he would have us install different color headlamps in a new car. I told him no way would I alter how the manufacture built it. I thought those blue/white bulbs had something to the effect "For Off road use only"

I'm open for opinions and discussion on this, Am I incorrect?

I think you dug in your heals too quickly. A promise was made as part of a financial agreement and it must be kept. Now it us up to you to either: A) find legal lamps as requested, or B) install the "Off Road Use Only" and have the customer sign the repair order acknowledging his understanding of such.

No big deal at our dealer. I would take the customers money in a second if they want to waste it on some Ricky racer blue bulbs. Just let them know that part is no longer under warranty. If you don't want to be bothered by it though it is pretty easy to talk them out of it by just talking to them explaining it would be best to wait until warranty is over before they start altering the car.
