advice to offer a new assistant parts manager?

Postby bentwrench54 » Fri Dec 30, 2016 5:30 am

effective the first of the new year, i will be an assistant parts manager. the owner wants me to learn as much as i can from the parts manager, so that if he leaves or is hurt, i can run the department as needed.

we're a small family owned dealership, using Reynolds and Reynolds for a DMS

any advice or hints?

thank you in advance!

Don't do it!!! Get out while you can!! Just kidding.. Congrats on the promotion.. If your PM knows his stuff just follow him along and learn everything he does so if he isn't there it is a seamless transition between the two of you.. It's nice to know and do everything the "new" way, but the old ways are just as good today as they were years ago.. Enjoy the learning process and have fun with it...
