Another issue that is a by-product of LPO parts... the parts dept loses future accessory sales revenues.

Very frustrating.

I received a set of side steps that were missing the hardware pkg. We opened up a set of our stock steps and used them. Our ADI will not send us any to replace them. Should I make a claim with GM? How would you handle it? These were LPO's by the way.

You won't be able to file a claim since you weren't invoiced for the part. Anytime an accessory is missing a part my ADI sends me what is missing and files the claim.

Send the LPO set back to your ADI and ask for a new set with hardware.

Yea, we kinda had a nice thing going here before the General forced the New Car departments to order just about every car or truck with LPO all
weather floor mats. Salesperson sells the vehicle and would walk the customer to the parts counter to sell the mats AT RETAIL.

Now they have decided they will send me a hardware kit.

GM didn't force them. The area sales rep gets paid on LPO. It's @$$ kissing.

That's why I have 48 sets of steps. The rep saw us putting steps on everything that came in, marking parts profit and doubling what service made, and STILL selling at the LPO price and shut that down real fast.

Yes the rep comes to parts and tries to get our sales increased and then goes to sales and begs them to order more lpo's. Sometimes our biggest competitor is GM.
