Parts Trader

Just received a letter from parts trader, informing us of the new pricing matrix. The lowest Tier $0-$5000 premier supplier is now $45 and standard is $55 a month.
How many of you use parts trader enough to justify the cost?
It seems like 90% of the time we send in quotes to pick up maybe 1 part that is a decal or part you couldn't get from a salvage yard.

I have to pay them so I can sell parts to myself (internal body shop).

What a bunch of crooks.

We received the same letter. We have 1 body shop that uses it and he hates it. Love how the insurances companies can dictate how you run your business. Smile and sign the check if you want to play in our ball park or take your bat and ball and go home. Gotta Love IT.

Same here, When I questioned them on this they said " it's just a small fee" I told him any fee to sell to myself is a bunch of crap. Then State Fraud told me, if we didn't like it we could be off the program, and not be a "preferred shop"

Unfortunately we are forced to use it. Some of our biggest accounts use it. It's really awesome when you see an additional line in the quote stating something along the lines of: a 3.5% fee will be added to your invoice for a completed transaction.

We could simply decide as body shops and dealerships to not use the program ever, but somebody somewhere will always cave.

We quit it years ago, along with wholesale body parts. gross is up significantly. more profit on a water pump than a hood.
