HOLDING PARTS FOR CUSTOMERS WITH REYNOLDS

If you want to hold a part for a customer unpaid on an ro which you have in stock then you put SB in the the transition code but skip the cso. Then when the customer comes back in an they create a new ro it will prompt you that there are backorderd parts for this customer and you can roll them to the new ro. When you sb the part it will show the correct quantity on hand but will show you a less quantity available. You can also do this on an invoice. I had them give me access to screen 3010 and set my own appointments so I can order parts with out having to wait for service to create them. Saves me from having to create an invoice to order then voiding it when the customer comes in. The only problem with appointment ordering is it wont promt parts to roll the part so it will have to be manually billed when customer arrives. Just remember to go into the appointment and delete part so that it wont show its still on hold.

So to hold parts for a customer where the vehicle is leaving and the RO is being closed you use SB and only use the appoint method to order parts when an RO has been closed? The SB method seems a bit easier then if it will change the available quantity.

Yes. That is how we do it here. The warranty clerk has me change SP orders to SB orders on ROs all the time. That way you can close the RO. Then if you go into the RO in 3656 and select 5 for parts you will see the part# with 0 dollars charged out and the quantity 0 with the notation "parts on special order" . You can also look at in 2525 by putting in the RO# with a -1 and it will show the part orderd SB with no sold dollar amount. Example RO251103-1. Your counter people just have to remember to roll the part or the -1 RO will just sit there and show the part is not available. My counter guys screw this up all the time. If they do just go into the -1 RO and delete the part. I also do this periodically when parts have been in the special order status for to long. I delete the part on the SB to show it available.

You could have service create an appointment in the system, and then go into the appointment from 2525 using the appointment number and put the part on there. I'v been off R&R for a while, but i think this would work.

Before our buy/sell, when we were still on R&R, we had our 2525/Q screen setup to show if parts were tied to appointments or open ROs and invoices. We also had it show QOH and quantity available, which worked really well when checking availability.

I'm fairly new to ADP but how can you create an SOR with ISI indicator and it not just order the item? If I do an SOR it orders the item no matter how many we have in stock. I'd love to be able to tag in stock items for customers.

Never thought I'd miss ADP/CDK. Had the old Reynolds blue screen and loved it. Ignite is a poor replacement for either....

In CDK, if you go to Function UOP and create a priority such as OH, when you are prompted to enter the order priority for parts you already have in stock, simply put the priority to OH.

The priority ISI (In Stock Item) would work as well.

The parts will not order as long as you don't 'select' the priority ISI or OH to be included in an order. Follow?
