Phase out criteria

I am a GM store and was wondering what you all have setup as a part to phase out. No hits in how many days? I know for us RIM controls everything but when I have inventory my non-stock part #'s are way up. Thanks in advance

RIM controls your STS also, so if the part is RIM and NS that means it no longer meets THEIR stocking criteria.

For most of us on ReyRey that category of parts would usually be AP.

NS for Reynolds usually meant a "test" part in SP-ORD that you were watching for Phase-In, until RIM screwed it all up.

Look at MFR STS of each "non-stock" or "forced-stock" item. Code 09 means that RIM is not managing that part. Code 02,04,05 mean that RIM is managing that part.

In R&R, I use a report generator looking at Code 09 and age to create a return.

Statistically, considering the chances of a subsequent sale; less than one sale in 6 months and the part goes to AP; Remember that AP simply say "system" don't order this part. Some of the factory programs ignore this completely so you have to, monthly, get a list of all parts over six months no sales, include a year of monthly sales history, and for those parts that you absolutely don't want put them on DP.

It is also a good idea to insist that the DMS set up a couple of sources, whose data will not and cannot be shared, sent or transmitted to a third party. Remember, you are paying the bill for the DMS and not the factory.
