Reynolds shows multiple sales.....

Reynolds shows multiple sales.....

Postby bentwrench54 » Wed Aug 30, 2017 3:42 pm

Hi everyone, trying to determine why Reynolds shows multiple sales of one part to the same customer.

For instance, we sold a set of brake pads and a set of rotors on an R/O that was customer pay. Looking in 3651 shows that the parts were billed internal.

It shows up in 2024 as another sale, same R/O. It's affecting how these parts come back in on a stock order.

We've got this stuff on RIM, so it looks like we're selling more than we're buying from GM.

How can we correct this?

I'm on CDK now after going through a buy/sell, but if I remember correctly, if the original labor type (CWI) was changed after the part was billed, it will look like another sale in the system.

3651 and 2024 are showing the same sale.

use 2023 to see specific sales.

or use 2101 menu item 38 to see sales by qty only.

also 2101 option 41 MFR STS will tell you if it is a RIM controlled part.

02 is active RIM control and stock
04 and 05 are RIM control but not necessarily stocking
09 is not stocked and not RIM controlled.

I see what you're saying. Is there a way to fix that or is it just the way Reynolds works?

In 2101 for part number 19286253 AND 19286419 I show that the Mfr Sts is "03" . GM RIM site shows both part numbers as permanently excluded. Looks like they were both excluded a month ago.

To add to this, I didn't know that we even were out of this stuff until service sold a brake job without consulting with the parts department for price and availability .

Good lord, three nice days in Pennsylvania and I come back to this crap.

AFIK, that's just how it works. If you go into 2022, it should only show how many true sales actually relieved the inventory. If GM would even go into that kind of detail and account for changing a pay type as an individual sale. that seems like a TON of horse hockey.

I have no idea. My PM is on the phone with ReyRey now about the pay types. I think 2022 is showing all sales, because the stuff that we sold two days ago were sold as an "IO" and they wouldn't have been from inventory because we were in fact showing 0 in stock.

I think even moving parts from one line to another causes that too if I remember correctly. Basically removes it from the RO and rebills it again
