I posted in the DFOAB about this. Our customers are going to love signing another piece of paper. They have to sign the drop envelopes, work order if they come in, courtesy car forms, the finished RO ect. Might as well buy a new vehicle. LOL

Wait till the insurance companies hear this. With all the A/M crap they push, and then we tell them it may effect the warranty they will pitch a fit. I have been through this before when I was with Mopar, customer did not want A/M radiator, State Fraud told him if it voided his warranty they would cover any damaged caused by the radiator(yeah right).

We have been looking at this as well. We too have a body shop and being a smaller store we have used our share of non-GM parts. Some times we are forced to use non-GM because it is either discontinued or GM simply cannot supply it. Galactic Backorder I believe is the term the guys now use.

Anyway, we have not been able to determine an effective policy / procedure that will insure we get this done every time. Like previously posted we too have the customer signing so many things they are questioning us why already... Now add another stating we may have harmed their vehicle. Why not just ask for the keys to the building and make it official -

Now a stupid question, how does this affect services (ie: T/Body, injector etc.)? We're at the point where we are about to toss the aftermarket (BG, JB etc.) out the window.. I know they are not "parts" per se, but they are not "GM Approved". What is everyone else doing with these items?

There was a good article about this in Automotive News yesterday. (New GM disclosure form riles dealers).
