R&R ERA POPUPS

R&R ERA POPUPS

Postby Parts007 » Wed Sep 13, 2017 5:39 pm

If you have ignite on your computer, but still use ERA, you will start to get popups from R&R stating you could be performing your same task in ignite. I had to call R&R about something else so I complained about the popups. That they impede my work and unnecessary.

R&R said they wont do anything unless other people complain about it also...So if you are feeling ornery, give them a shout!

I called about it last week too, they don't give a crap what you think or what your job entails. As a matter of fact I'm on the phone with them now and complained about it again.
She also said the next release will have all the executable numbers (2101, 2041, 2103 etc.) listed next to the Ignite titles on their main page and under reports, display, and tool etc. BECAUSE she claimed they will be eliminating all of the ERA access screens like 2101 if they are available in Ignite, with a countdown of days to the removal.
Their Parts program is horrible and I wish I could choke some of their programmers that don't have to work in a dealership. I can do anything on ERA access faster than your best on Ignite. They don't have a friggin' CLUE!

We have recently switched to Ignite, can any parts employees give me anything that they found as a positive over ERA? My R&R reps keep telling me that everyone loves it and it is so much easier for parts departments to use, that it must be our people who are the problem.

I have found that it is extremely hard to use, a lot more keystrokes, and much easier to make mistakes (like billing parts out under cost). Just wondering if it is only our employees (including myself) having issues, or if other people think it is a substandard product, at least for the parts department.

I have started playing with it over the past few days.. Is it easier? No, instead of using keystrokes you are point and clicking to death. Are some things easier? For me playing with My PriceJoke it was easier to get the numbers into the screen, because I get error messages on the blue screens from it, but there are a lot of ways to make errors. In fact in 2 RO's I did I duplicated a part number twice, don't know how I did that but I did. Although I am not a proponent of it, it will take some getting used to. In fact it will take A LOT of getting used to.. R&R did make me laugh I was on the phone with them and their answer to a question of mine was in Ignite it is faster, when I said I was not using Ignite, I was told well you will be soon. Jeez...

I have had the same issue. It's super annoying! I spoke with my R&R rep in person, and they stated it's basically a 90 day countdown until I can't use certain functions in ERA anymore. I'll be forced to use Ignite, as this is what the dealership is paying for! They stated I could call to have Ignite seat removed from my PC, but then I lose all access to it. There are certain things I like about Ignite, but still use ERA for most of my daily work.

It looks like Ignite is coming sooner rather then later. I don't get the popups anymore, now my blue screen says since I am a Ignite user I will no longer have access to the executable that is in ignite in 90 days.. This all should be fun...

We have R & R reps here right now showing employees how to use Ignite. Two guys for a week to show 45 people how to use this????
So far parts guys have picked it up and are running with it. Service not so much.

I had my rep here the other day, she started to show me some things and went away to never come back.. Now this morning, I come in to a screen that says I have courses overdue and the system will not let me into Ignite. I take a bunch of courses and it FINALLY lets me in. Now I look at my "course schedule" and it shows about 10 Service related courses.. Some how I feel the General is behind this! LOL

They sent a rep here the other day and I let her have it, and she left crying to her boss.

These morons are selling a half-baked program they've been working on for 10 years and it's still not done, you HAVE to go to blue screen to do a lot of functions or plain can't find them in Ignite because they're hidden in non-sensical pull-downs or alt-keys or subscreens, or you have to switch apps to Accounting or Service or Name files and take the required training for them too. I think they were going broke with the fact that nobody wanted to buy this crap so they brainwashed a bunch of new sales reps to go out and force-feed it to the Dealers and bundle it with ERA so you didn't have a choice. Pay more for ERA or get the "package deal" on the latest and greatest BS they're spewing. They tell the Dealers it will make their Service dep't more productive and sell more labor, but that's just the upside. Wait till you see this load. The reason they're pushing Ignite so hard is so they can sell you Advanced Service, (another useless cluster that 95% of dealers don't need) and THAT'S HOW THEY GET PAID, TO SELL YOU MORE PRODUCT.

(Used to be Impala67, forgot password & email)

We have just recently received the 90 Days until program is NFG and I have to say that the feedback that I have received from both parts and service advisor staff has been a very big negative. They try and use ignite but they simply cannot match the speed of their EraLink.

I am not a manager at all, and don't let the name fool you, I am not an assistant either. Now I don't know if this is apart of the 90 days popups, or it is my superior attempting to be controlling AGAIN, but can anyone else create reports in 6910, this is a big issue as I create reports to make life easier (example at bottom), as well 2302 does not allow me to input as much values for BIN entry.

One of my biggest vices with Ignite is the fact that it is just plain slow, we have a shop repair order that we put all of the misc. chemicals for jobs on their if it is further required past an estimate, and once that repair order reaches 50 to 100 items over the course of a month it is a snail, I will be attempting to add a brake clean and i will have sit there for 20 seconds to load in, 20 to wait for it to be added once I press enter, and another 20 to exit of the screen. I simply do not know how I am going to do my job, when half of the screens I use for inventory prep are hidden, or non-existent to me.

-An example of a report I created that was scene as stupid-

One day the manager comes around the corner and ask the second back counter guy who is older but is also the shipper/receiver what brake parts we need.
They both mozy over to the wall and the counter guy yells out numbers as the manager writes them down. The order comes in and months pass, the long term front counter guy and I both notice parts on the shelf with no sales for 6 months and we notice that this was ordered on the promo. yay!

I created a report that sorts the parts by 3 month sales average, group number (GM), and 6 month sales hist, and 12, and you can always change the value of the group number, I showed this and was immediately reprimanded as this isn't something I should be doing and I shouldn't bother with this.

I have no previous training on how to create reports I just see them as I good way to sort and list parts for ease of use.
