BOGO Wiper Promo

BOGO Wiper Promo

Postby partsman103 » Fri Oct 13, 2017 10:08 pm

So, GM is about to launch a nationwide ad campaign offering BOGO on Delco Wiper Blades. GM has sent out the "formula" on how dealers can get reimbursed (cost only btw) for this promotion but what they don't communicate is: (at least what I was told by our rep)

- Cannot seek reimbursement if sold "over-the-counter"
- Must create a Service Repair order to file claim.

Anyone else hearing the same??

Another FAIL by GM. Who's going to show up at your Dealership for this?!? It's just another 'loss leader' that seemed like a great idea at the time. (To the people who don't actually work in the car repair business).

It's only good on the Delco wipers, which are cheap crap, and we only use on foreign cars. So if a customer really really wants a BOGO Delco wiper it's easier and less manpower just to give it to them. I think we did 20 last time around, and we wrote 'em off to 65D&F.

Maybe that's what The General is counting on.

We bought a bunch for the first bogo promo back in march.

Maybe sold 10 sets?

We won't buy more.

This is just a program for GM to unload Delco brand wipers to the dealer.

Last time RIM recommended a bunch of numbers...2 each. Of course they come in packages of 10. If I remember right we were told RIM would not recommend parts we have not sold but that was another lie.

Told my DMA that I am not participating. Took years to get rid of the cheap crap blades..no need to have three lines for each make/model. I am way ahead of the nation average in blades and filters sold by almost a 2.5/1 margin and all I stock is the OES. It was just a matter of reprogramming techs and advisors to ask for the sale.

Had a bunch of part numbers proposed on Mondays RIM order which I refused. This morning I received a bunch of wipers that I don't stock and
have never sold including the old style metal wiper blades for cars back in the 90's which we never see anymore. What a great program to
unload old junk on the dealers which will never sell.
