R1234YF ref chargeouts

This is our expensive Freon as you are all aware of. How are you charging this out on warranty tickets? Supposedly lbs don't work, ounces don't work (for warranty submission). You need to use grams? Then on top of that qty 1=45 grams even though 1 lb equals 453 grams. Have you all ran into this? Thanks.

Refrigerant R-1234yf must be billed out by the gram in the parts quantity field. The
R-1234yf container is 4.5 KG = 4500 grams.

GM warranty requires r1234yf to be billed in units of 10 grams.

Example 1.5 lbs = 24 oz = 680 gm = 68 units

4.5 kg cyl costs $675 = $0.15 gm = $1.50 cost/10gm unit

$1.50 cost + your warranty markup (ours is +53% = $2.30 x 68 (1.5 lbs) = $156.40 total claim)

nice and simple

Yep.

Refer to bulletin #12-01-37-001B. Everything you need will be in there.
