They did pay the negotiated mark up for us on everything - engines and transmissions included

What does GM pay you for engines and transmissions? Suggested list on those is fairly low - sometimes only cost +10. Do they pay that lower list or cost + whatever is agreed upon?

Also does your neighbor GM store go cost+ as well. If not, does the added expense to the vehicle invoice cause a competitive issue?

List price is irrelevant.

They pay cost+ on engines and transmissions.

In Indiana our state legislators gave GM the loop hole to charge back on vehicles. We were awarded 73.3% warranty markup at the start. Upper management backed us back down to 40% to avoid the surcharge. Will be revisiting this issue this fall when Indiana legislators reassemble. Was great while it lasted.

Anyone have a list of states that get retail for warranty? I am in CA and interested in this as my Service department gets retail rate for labor on warranty claims

Just received my 2018 option c re-enrollment form in order to sign up you have to agree to 40% mark up on parts if you don't agree you have to go through the hassle of labor rate comparison and get less than 2.5% increase they give you . I don't understand how they can hold your service labor rate hostage to a parts mark up , oh wait this GM we are talking about .

Congratulations, glad to hear your victory. I am going to be applying for the warranty uplift program next year (2018) and I am hoping to gain some gross back into
parts as well. I am in MN and a new law that starts in 2018 protects dealers from getting surcharged on the new vehicles and that is the only reason I did not pursue it
this year.

RWilson,
Did you look at the Service Policies and Procedures that just came out? Article 2.1.1 has the following:
The requested rate must be reasonable when compared to other same line-make new
vehicle dealers. If the requested rate is unreasonable, the approved labor rate will be the
average market rate.
I was worried about my store at 77% being lowered. At 102% I would say that you are a big target for application of the above.
