We have a service and parts cashier that handles many tasks.When it comes to coupons there are certain accounts set up for her to put the discount to.The comptroller then rectifies it.

When I was an advisor I simply made it part of the routine write-up, ie:' I need your keys, a good number to reach you, and any service coupons or discount vouchers you might care to use." If they have a coupon but 'forgot' it, make a note on the work order and do not close until customer arrives to hand it over and pay. That way they have no excuse!

What bookkeeping system are you guys using? I like to know because I'm not super happy with mine. Also are you using someone in-house or a service? I'm guessing you are using an employee since you are familiar with your system requirements.
