When a GM accessory is put on a new vehicle, does anything have to be submitted to GM for the accessory to be covered for the cars warranty period?

Depending on the accessory, if the vehicle is NEW, Service/Warranty Admin. updates the build sheet in GlobalConnect. They also will submit a "zero dollar claim" as our admin. calls it, to make certain the vehicle's accessory installation is reported; it can be in the same R.O. as the PDI.
