I've never had a problem with Central Transport. They usually pick up same day when I call, but they also have a terminal within a 40 minute drive of my dealership.

As long as you can document that you've made your efforts to get the part picked up, you shouldn't get in to trouble. But get your rep involved or go above him if necessary.

Pretty much we have to send engines/transmissions back immediately, 2-3 days max, then we have to monitor the progress of the shipment with the piss-poor carrier that they have selected.

The one big problem I had with Central was over a year ago. The engine sat in a West Coast Hub for eight days due to a lack of available drivers heading east out of the hub (can you say "labor dispute ??). Previous engine and transmission returns to the WPC took 8 to 10 days from California, and this one took 19 days, just about twice the time. Take away those eight days in Barstow/Adelanto and then it would have been "on time". I made PDFs of all sort of documents and internet tracking results. Eventually, the debit was reversed, but it took some effort to win the battle.
