GM changing your source.

not sure if this has been brought up before. I was told from another manager GM changes you parts sources without notifying you. IE tires and accessories. Has anyone ever heard of this?

DMS providers have default sources for each manufacturer based on specific criteria. With GM, the Parts Master Tape contains indicators that will route ‘new’ parts to the default sources. If Parts are moved out of those sources to newly created sources for items such as menu items, the new source must be set to ‘not update’ the source when the Master Tape is updated. There also has to be a source designated to ‘dump’ numbers back into your system that RIM is still managing (18mo) but your DMS has deleted before RIM has dropped monitoring. GM would not be updating sources within your DMS.
