GM to slash jobs and production

GM to slash jobs and production

Postby CMayne » Mon Nov 26, 2018 7:54 pm

This little ti-bit is on MSN Money page. One paragraph I find real intriguing...."GM has begun what is expected to be a long and expensive transition to a new business model that embraces electrified and automated vehicles, many of which will be shared rather than owned."
Poeple laughed when this was brought up before. You will no longer "own" your car, it will belong to us, "Comrad".
Coming your way faster that anyone imagined!

I live and work within a half hour of the Lordstown assembly plant. Lots of uneasy people around here.

 Dunno what to make of it, aside from keep showing up and doing my job.

The article I read called GM's move "corporate greed at its worst." I was shocked that someone thought that of GM.... other than Dealership employees.

Looks like the shift is in full swing. Everyone make sure your resumes are updated/have a back up plan. I definitely do.

I saw an article now Ford is talking about doing the same thing, mass layoffs.

Fasten your seatbelts people!

Not even at its worst, yet! Stretch your memory to when this first came up a few years ago. What was the "other" part of their plan?
Oh, yup, I remember, it was to turn all or most of the "Dealerships" into Corporate owned "Service Centers". You folks have not even
seen close to the "worst", yet. You are about to get run over by the socialist train, brought to you by Corporate Amerika.

I've bled GM Blue for 40+ years, but seeing how they've treated  their own Dealers, Workers and now Our Country, I will not be surprised when GM is ancient history. What brand of Chinese car could I replace my Buick with****** another Buick
