Some sprint parts are now local only??

Some sprint parts are now local only??

Postby PARTSPHIL » Tue Feb 19, 2019 3:15 pm

I just got off the phone with SPAC about a wiring harness that is BO until April 8th. Car is down in the shop. There is no sprint so this really doesn't affect this order, BUT...... I was told that due to a GM mandate, some sprint parts are now "LOCAL DELIVERY ONLY". She checked and this part was on the list. I could understand something that gets broken in shipment being on this list but a wiring harness?????? I guess that huge Fed Ex bill is taking a toll. Has anybody else run into this?

I am constantly told that a part cannot be sprinted if it is more than 100 miles away because its "to big" ,"to fragile" , "because we say so" . If I call the dealer and check if they can ship Spac will not do it. :x :x

my latest SPAC availability issue was for the Cruze turbo 25201603 for a warranty repair with the customer in a rental. SPAC agent said that the turbo was off the sprint program because too many were on backorder. which makes no sense at all. then requested the agent's supervisor/lead. He read the same thing, word for word. I asked for someone that would listen to and resolve my issue. I even had the dealer code and name/number of the dealer that was willing to Sprint the part out to me. The third level of assistance was not much better, but she verbally committed to get something done for me. A day later, she called back and said that she could now fill the order and close the SPAC case.

Sure seems to be a systematic refusal to maintain their level of service that they committed to...

I ordered an 84344895 pedal on 2/4/2019. Had to put it on a SPAC case and on the invoice it says “ ship for next day delivery”. I was told by a SPAC agent that these cannot fly FEDEX because there has been to much damage. You gotta be sh%tin me………… Its safer to send it through the MI crossdock and then the Hudson crossdock and then to me. YAH OK. By the way because of the snow and the umm….. delays at the crossdock I just received it today 2/19/2019. That’s 15 days on a SPAC case.

I have three open spac cases, there are plenty of dealers that show inventory on d2d, but every case is "in transit to facility". Are dealers not giving up parts or is gm not fulfilling these orders to save money?

As many pedals we are replacing, I am surprised it is not a recall yet, or special policy. Wait until you put in the 84344895 and the client is back two weeks later with the same problem and the new replacement pedal is not available either. engineering note for 84344895: PART NUMBER 84344895 PEDAL ASSEMBLY IS REPLACED BY TWO PART NUMBERS DEPENDING ON OPTION, FOR OPTION. MNH USE PART NUMBER 84478055, AND FOR OPTION MKE USE PART NUMBER 84478070. engineering note for 84478055: PART NUMBER 84478055 PEDAL ASSEMBLY UNTIL AVAILABLE CAN USE PART NUMBER 84344895 FOR OPTION CODES MNH AND MKE PLEASE REFER TO GLOBAL CONNECT PARTS WORK BENCH FOR THE LATEST INFORMATION ON AVAILABILITY AND ORDERING. So the spac cases are not getting filled, with the new number or the old number, we have 4 clients that are now in loaners with a mid march eta.

Thanks GM!
