CATALOGS

Postby nbeckhart23 » Tue Jul 30, 2019 7:03 pm

Hello all. Well its that time of year for me anyway to approve or deny my subscription with the Snapon Catalog. We have 10 seats and our own stand alone server. We use the global connect EPC as a back up. Just curious as to what everyone out there is doing. Do you pay for the catalog or do you just use the one on Global. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated thanks again.

I don't think you can use the one on global if you don't have a license for a catalog.

Correct.

We only use the catalog link through GC, have to still have licenses for each terminal. It cuts down on hours wasted of updating the "offline" catalog every few months.

Just remember that if you do not have a server and the internet or global connect goes down, you will not have a catalog.
We have 2 stores side by side, one we run just with global connect the other has a server.
2 or 3 times a year we have issues where we have to call the store that has the server to look up parts.
Not too bad but something to think about.

We use the online catalog. It is much faster than the local version.I do keep the local version loaded and updated on each machine as a backup. No server anymore. Its much easier to update with the jump drives. The main thing I like about the online version is I can enlarge it to 125% or larger. Helps for these eyes that aren't young anymore.
