Re: GM LPO parts kick back
So this is it works. Sales orders trucks with OVER price gm accessories that NO one wants. ADI lines pockets of sales man with cash .Parts get NOTHING!!.Then we are moving shit and forced to take it back and give sales credit when customer don't want it but sales got kick back on it. Service get paid Labor and sales get pocket lined with cash.Parts stock it in and need to bring it to tech feet and its damaged or don't fit again need to waist more time to call ADI and fight with them. After all that they need take shit back because NO NO NO ones this stuff. Over price and juck waranty
Re: GM LPO parts kick back
When asked about where parts are....why they weren't installed....damage whatever I just tell what LPO stands for... "Leave parts out" or the other reason I don't put any effort into keeping track of them LPO= Lost Profit Opportunity
Re: GM LPO parts kick back
We get the whole headache. We also have to store the Books and extra keys to the cars because the salesmen won't leave shit alone. I have to log them in and out.

Re: GM LPO parts kick back
The parts LPO issue has been a battle for years and its not getting resolved anytime soon. Here at our dealer the parts department NOT the sales department NOT the service department sells between 45-50k a month in accessories. Meanwhile sales gets the LPO credits and the SFE accessories monthly bonus pay out . Why oh why and who in their right mind thought it was a smart idea to give ALL the accessories payouts to the sales department !?!? I have had several discussions with our GM and with the sales manager and there is ZERO interest in splitting or sharing in the profits with parts. Why would there be ???? Why would sales want to give away monies ?? For YEARS they have been collecting on the backs of parts managers and their departments , it needs to end . Absolutely horrible system that bogs down parts department effeciency , profitability and kills time management trying to chase parts and profits.
You wouldn't expect salesman to waste time every day talking to people unless they are selling cars and getting paid , Service advisor won't waste time chatting with people unless their making money and getting paid , technician won't waste time looking at a car unless their getting paid , WHY
does parts have to waste HOURS sometimes on these LPOS and hours fighting to try and get money that's ours .......... absolutely disgraceful

Re: GM LPO parts kick back
I understand the frustration , our sales dept pushes accessories . I figure our salary pays us to take care of the lpo's even though I don't like the program either. If sales did not push accessories it would be a different story. The guy that does the pdi's pulls the parts himself and helps us stock them sometimes. Sales also provides me with a box truck to store them in and that's a big help.
