When will GM catch up?

When will GM catch up?

Postby Partsgm » Wed Jan 01, 2020 3:43 am

At what point if they already didn't do so will or should they cancel all orders that have been placed months ago and we should start over? I need to go back to how it was before strike. This is really a whole bunch of bullshit. Body shop parts are what's hurting me most and have been for months. I am not making or worse losing money making my body shop customers happy so they will stay with me.

Backed up 4 days for every day they were on strike(41). That's about 5 and a half month's. I say April or May. Don't know if I can take it that long!

I've heard that GM is saying the should be "healthy" by end on 1st quarter. My guess is closer to May.

Lets face it.......they weren't exactly a well oiled machine before the strike. My guess would be NEVER!! They will still have tons of backorders, delivery companies that can't deliver every day consistently, pricing policies that suck, bullshit programs that benefit their DEALER PARTNERS............ My ass. I say never!

During the strike I was of the opinion that it would be Valentine's Day. When the strike ended and the mess got worse, I revised my prediction to St. Patrick's Day. I spoke with a GM warehouse employee today and was told --- maybe --- Memorial Day. This is assuming no major snow storms or other disasters (Mother Nature or GM made). If true this will put dealers in this mess for more than ONE YEAR.

To say this is beyond acceptable is an understatement. However, we have no say in the matter at all.

I spent more than 1 1/2 hours on the phone (3 calls) with GM today alone trying to SPRINT parts I found. This doesn't count the dozens of calls to dealers asking if they would sell the part. Wasting my and the other dealers time.

Why doesn't GM constantly re-shop the SPAC cases? We may be able to help each other with returned parts from our customers.

My guess is they will be caught up by the time their new contract runs out in 4 years and we can do it all again

FINALLY! Some RIM ordered items came today. We haven't had RIM parts in about 2 weeks. Supplies were getting low again. At least our PDC (Cincy 007) has been getting our CSOs to us in decent fashion.

Our PDC is Charlotte and they are doing great with everything they have in stock and they are catching up on a lot of parts.. Our RIM order today only had 1 item back ordered. Our problem is getting freight that's cross shipped ,primarily from 051 and 087( don't expect anything from 075,076,or 001 so don't include them). Parts from 051 or 087 normally arrive in 2-3 days but everything lately take close to a month. And the PDC asks us not to apply for credit until GM's tracking website shows the part has been delivered. Problem is the website is never updated. Parts we have had for a month don't show as delivered.

I am getting tired of being told to hold on or having returns rejected when I wait the 10 days period. I been told to give them extra time. I think GM wants is hoping we will forget to claim all these parts. My argument from now on, is you billed me now either produce the part or give me my money. Yes, I am turning blue thinking that GM gives a damn. Yet, over all I have to give credit were credit is due.

Our PDC has done a great job, getting up and running. The only hiccup from December 23 till January 2, I never received RIM orders. When I did them, they were all 100% there. I had been getting my RIM at a good pace before the hiccup. I hate, Memphis, and lansing. Those two are the death of GM. I rather grab a bull by its balls than order a part from them.
