EMRP PRICE LIST POLICY

EMRP PRICE LIST POLICY

Postby CADLOU » Tue Mar 03, 2020 2:35 pm

This thread is a continuation of us talking about how GM is undercutting us. I am sure most of you have seen the new policy on some EMRPs. I picked out a O2 sensor, 12634061, on their list and punched into google search. I just picked the first one that came up. It was on Amazon for 36.95, which is the minimum price they want it sold for. Which is 1.08 above our cost! What I take from this is that they don't mind taking money from us, as long as someone is not taking profit from them. I really don't know what we can do, but I am tired of being beat over the head by customers.

This is a battle that has been fought since I started this in the late 70's. It has only gotten worse since then , now that everyone has the internet and knows how to use it. Good luck I'm retiring soon.

The only way you are making any money on these parts, is on the back end. I wonder, did that Amazon seller offer free shipping as well? I'm too damn young to retire, and too old to try and learn new tricks!!

Not sure how they are making any money that way. I'm not sure if you can write off freight as a business expense. Also not sure where they are purchasing parts with that much of a discount. Unless they do around and buy up NOS from dealers just looking to clean up their inventory. Last dealer I was at the parts director sold a ton of old LPO's for pennies on the dollar.

If they are buying bulk I would bet it's right from GM, or an AC Delco WD.

The Amazon listing said being sold by ACDelco. So it a direct shipment from whatever warehouse they are using.
I bent my DM's ear a little today about this. How they want us dealers to buy more, spark plugs, filters, hub bearings, wipers and batteries this month, but are still undercutting us. He just shrugged his shoulders and agreed with me.

I think the battery deal this month is buy a dozen get one free. Big freaking deal!!! How about buy 12 and get a % off instead?
