RIM RETURNS

Did they officially put RIM returns on hold? Heard some scuttlebutt awhile back but never heard for sure, and today is my schedule day and there is nothing there

I never heard anything definite about them suspending them, but today is my day and there is no return.

AS of April 1 they put all RIM returns on hold. You should be getting, if not already, a notice on it and what they are doing on core returns. They are also asking us not to use any 2020 return at this time.

I guess some communication is better than no communication but 22 days into the month for something that they shut off on April 1st is unacceptable to me.

Let us know what is going on BEFORE things actually happen. It can't be that difficult to inform the dealer body when the decisions are already made by corporate.

Best part about rim returns being shut off is that we are still accepting new proposals to stay compliant.

To be able to do what your asking would take some sort of reasoning that they are not capable of. A group of 5 year olds could run it better than them. HAve you seen the crap they are going to do with cores?
I am not sending any cores back unless I absolutely have to. The game they are going to play is a good way for me to loss track of it and get debited.

And that is EXACTLY what they are hoping happens. It's bad enough when they aren't playing games with the money that we have to stay on top of them to make sure they don't short us anything...even more so now that they are pulling this BS.

MY ADVICE ON CORES (& ANYTHING ELSE YOU RECEIVE AND ARE WAITING TO BE DEBITED OR CREDIT FOR):

The person that does my annual inventory gave me the greatest advice I have ever received in my career regarding reconciliations and I will share it with all of you now...
I do this with my claims, oil, price matches, tires as well (anything that you receive and are waiting on credit or to be billed for this should be done...)

Get a bunch of file folders, label one CORES SHIPPED, another CORES PAID

All of your shipped answerbacks keep in the SHIPPED folder, when you receive credit for it stamp it PAID or write PAID with the date of the invoice and put it in the PAID folder.

With our current situation I will create a new folder CORES PRE-CREDITED and keep all of them in the new folder separate so you know that you will need to still receive credit again once they are dug out of the trailers.

Another tip: Retain a copy of your BOL's with the answerbacks so when issues for awaiting credits arise they are together and you can fax or email both pages to Hollingsworth to get your credit faster.

I hope this process helps you all as much as it has helped me. Again I use it for anything that I am waiting for credit or in the case of oil and tires waiting to be billed on the factory invoice.
