Laser cutting key machine

Hello All

I have put off purchasing a laser cutting key machine but now it's time.

Any suggestions on which one to purchase would be greatly appreciated.

We bought an ILco futura automotive machine last year. Had to send it off last month to get it repaired. It started eating keys. When we called the company they seemed aware of the problem, said would only take a day or so to fix once they got it. Took about two weeks before we got it back but its now working fine. The automotive one only does car and truck keys and is a whole lot cheaper( about 4,000). If you are a GM dealer and buying thru GM's tool program you have to ask about it, it doesn't show on the website.

We have a Barnes BDLaser. Have had it since the Cobalt recall fiasco. It cuts the laser and 10 cut keys you just have to switch the jaws and cutting bits back and forth. The cost of the cutting bits was the only issue ($170.00 each) and we found a supplier that we were able to purchase 10 of each for the price of 1 from the manufacturer.

Laser Key Extreme S……….. We bought our first one back in old key cylinder and key recall days. Cuts single sided keys with a cutter wheel and laser keys with a milling bit. Really fast cuts and the wheel and bits last quite long. Just changed the cutter wheel and the date on the old one was 11/2017.
Laser key products are geared more toward Locksmiths but it works fine for us. It comes with an Ipad and the current version of Genericode made by Framon. Again its geared toward locksmiths…………..
When we ordered ours it was cheaper than Barnes and BD Laser and came in at around $7100. They are out of Texas and they are very helpful getting you set up because they know you are a car dealer and not a locksmith they speak your language.
Only suggestion I can make is get the laptop and not the Ipad version……… unless you have hands like a thirteen year old girl the Ipad is hard to use.
