AUTOMATE line-pricing

AUTOMATE line-pricing

Postby LivinDaDream » Wed Jun 10, 2020 3:56 pm

Hi guys and gals - anyone on here using Automate that has figured out a slick way to do line-pricing (group-pricing) while using a matrix for all the rest of the parts? I want to do the work that the manufacturers are not doing by common pricing the fast-moving parts, i.e., brake pads, rotors, air filters, cabin filters, wipers, etc. in an effort to make it easier on the service advisors to quote jobs, and also to retain a couple pennies more built into the special pricing. In Reynolds I was able to use the "comp" pricing field and told the matrix that IF there was a comp price in the part record, that is what we want to use on RO's. In CDK I was able to move the part numbers into a separate source and "no matrix" that source. In Automate, no joy ......

We are a Hyundai dealer as well as Buick-GMC; under the Hyundai smart stock program, one is not allowed to move the source that the part record is set up in. With GM I can do whatever I want because RIM is ALWAYS gonna find the GM part number, regardless of the source that it is set in.

Thanks for any help provided !!

I don't think it's possible to do exactly what you are looking to do in Auto/Mate.

I have different pricing structures that I set up in Calc Codes and Sale Types in Function 7 but beyond that we just use smooth pricing in service with fast movers.

THANK YOU for the response, PartsPlant81. It's good to know another PM on the Auto/Mate platform. I think I have found a way to do this, albeit it's a little clunky and NOT the way that I would prefer for the pricing to work. If I set my matrix off of LIST price, I can update the LIST prices in the part records of the items that I'd like to flat-price. Then when I set the matrix, I do the $00.00 to $5.00, $5.01 to $10.00, etc.; but STOP the matrix at, let's say, $29.94, set $29.95 - $29.95 to sell at LIST + 00, then resume the matrix from $29.96 to $50.00, etc. As a result the air filters, for example, would price at straight $29.95. Of course I would need to turn off the switch to update LIST when I run the monthly price tapes.

While we're on the matrix subject .. where is the setting to tell the system the proposed markup when there is NO LIST PRICE from the manufacturer, as is the case with GM's stupid "My price stinks" "body parts"? I want it to default to cost +100 in the absence of a MFR LIST.

This would be a whole lot easier if Auto/Mate would give us an option to use "comp" price in our matrices, as Reynolds does allow.

Thanks again !!

In screen 7 Line 10 at the bottom you can set a list price for parts with no list. We use Calc Code 167% of cost to get close to OEC/MSRP

You made my mind explode with that explanation of the matrix pricing.

For the parts with no list I have my Calc Code based off of manufacturer list at 100% and it somehow makes up a list price on my RO. This was all done with trial and error years ago when list was removed and somehow it still works for me.

thanks mdishong. Exactly what I was looking for. I knew I had seen it in my past travels, but they hide it pretty well.

Cheers !!

Set up your sources(ie 10 for coolant etc), and set up your matrix. We bill the parts our that need to be menu, or gm list as sales code 3. So, when we bill out non menu, list parts they are automatically matrixed by a percentage of cost.
