New Manual Sprint. What a Joke!

New Manual Sprint. What a Joke!

Postby CADLOU » Tue Jul 28, 2020 4:49 pm

I am up to trying new technologies and using them to help make our lives better. I tried the new manual sprint help. Lined up the dealer and followed the directions. So, I am thinking that I would get an email or a call that they had settled it and sending me my brand new shiny part. I now know that I must think I live in some Fairy Tale to think I was going to have a happy ending. They somehow screwed it up. I still had to call SPAC, sit on hold for over 15 minutes! I know at least it wasn't an hour, but still. It took them three calls back to me to get the thing straight. They even warned me that now I may get two. How did I go from not have a part to the possibility that I may get two? He tried to explain, but I was not following their logic. I can tell you this, I hated my logic class in college, but I would gladly sit through that if it help with GM. To learn their logic I fear I would have to move to some other planet. They cancelled my original spac case and set up another. I am not sure if I will see my part tomorrow or not. You know what, I am going to let it ride and if I don't my DM can earn his pay. Anyone else tried to use the new Sprint with any success?

I had the opportunity last week to do so but I feared that I may end up in your situation, so I started a chat session with an agent and handled it that way. Thanks for reassuring me that I made the right decision.

I used it last week, and the sprinting dealer never closed the order out... I waited 2 days and hadn't received the part. Had to call the dealer and they were like.... "oh, they never sent us the label" Go job GM

I also used it last week. the agent did not put a 1 in front of the fax#, it backed me up a couple of days. I normally find a dealer willing to sprint the part and I start a chat have the agent start a spac case and call the sprinting dealer. The reason I have the agent start a spac case is I dont want the part going thru the searches on d2d. We get the part much faster. The manual sprint is a good idea is long as it works. I still think it would be easier to leave to the parts on the locator so we can call a dealer and fill it from their d2d. After 2 searches the part is gone no longer in d2d.

I had a dealer ask for a part to SPRINT him; it was available so we went through the motions. He said he used the new Manual SPRINT vein, he was told the grille was too easily damaged for Fed-Ex shipment, and is not able to be circulated for SPRINT. He verified this info by following up with a phone call to SPAC. Sure enough, same answer. I had 3 calls for that part that day, but I gave him the courtesy of waiting it out. (One dealer even went as far as telling me "I can make one phone call and have your label to you in 5 minutes for SPRINT". Impressive  ) The poor fella had one of his wholesale shops desperate for it, so he bought it with a credit card and had a freight company come by for it immediately. Mind you, the box had a FED-EX label on it from when I received it a week ago!!!

Denise we have had SPAC refuse to sprint parts to us on several occasions because it was marked for local delivery only. Once we escalated it and a couple of weeks later it was shipped to us from another dealer on fed ex. Another time we set up to go pick it up, called back to SPAC and a different agent fed ex-ed it to us. So now we call at least twice before we try to get the part by other means.

I have had many sprinting dealers not ship for 2+days. It is always the "person" that processes those is off today or we never got a label. Seems like there are many dealers that have not heard of gm loop one.

I did tell him to try multiple times: Different agent-different answer sometimes!

The new system is really bad however I can't believe they can't figure out how to let VIN #'s that start with a letter be upgraded in Global without having to call or live chat.

I have multiple Buick Encores that have 13 part recalls and those vehicles all start with a letter so I know I'll have to devote at least an hour of my day to upgrading these because they can't be upgraded in Global.

Please GM hire a programmer that can't fix this issue it has been WAY TOO LONG!

That would require GM to give a shit. I had a 1976 Coupe Deville come in. The guy spent over 7 thousand on repairs. One part was a carb replacement. Guess how many parts I just got hit for sales loyalty for? They can tell it is a 76 but cannot tell that they can't supply the freaking parts for it? GM just wants to screw us over. Oh and even the Delco numbers came back as not any good. now I have to deal with them.
