I definitely will not be taking you up on that bet. Think what our cost structure was when they "grabbed $35 out of thin air" several years ago vs. our cost structure today.
Then GM wonders why our labor rates are so high - we have to cover these types of expenses.
Then they wonder why we aren't competitive on some services.
It would be extremely helpful if we knew some weeks in advance of their intention to raise pricing. Just about three weeks ago we completed a complete cost rework of our oil changes. This rework resulted in a significant raise (percentage wise) of our oil change pricing. We did not change oil prices, expecting to revisit the issue at the end of the year. We had no idea we were going to get hit with $1.00+ per gallon increases. More than $2.00 per oil change for a full size truck using 0W30.
Wait till the inflation pricing hits the filter prices. Oh wait, it doesn't matter - they don't have those anyway.
