Parts Department Health Questions/Answers

Hey All,

What are some questions that need to be asked, and answered to determine the overall health of the parts department.
Should any questions regarding parts department health, be service, or sales department related as well?
Trying to deep dive into some real metrics, KPI's, and OKR's.

I would think your fill rate and inventory turn would be a good place to start. How much obsolete inventory do you have? What percent of profit are you at for all different categories, i.e. O.E. parts, others, tires, gas oil grease? These would be some of the best questions that come to mind. Hope this helps!

Do you have any benchmarks that you would find to be below average, average, exceeding, etc?
I know this would all depend on manufacturer and location, but anything helps.
