Defective parts claims

Defective parts claims

How would you handle this?
Local repair shop purchased two shock absorbers less than two years ago, one is leaking. Still under the parts warranty, copy of their repair order and copy of our invoice in my hands. Usually we have service write a defect parts repair order, reference our original invoice and it goes through.
Anymore I have to keep pestering them to write me a fuckin' RO, is there any other way to send this shock back to GM and get credit?

Shocks & struts are limited lifetime to original purchaser anyhow.
Ask their manager why they feel it necessary to have the Service Dept. eat a shock. I'm a jerk.
Seriously, it is literally their job to help the dealership benefit, from whomever! After all, it is the SERVICE dept.

Create a ‘GM Warranty’ customer in parts just like you would a wholesale customer and make sure it’s set up with accounting properly. Then invoice the part on a counter slip and put the appropriate purchase info in the comments section on the invoice. Turn in to warranty admin who in turns submits to WPC. Provide a copy of the original purchase and you should be good to go. You will have to set up the ‘Price Code’ to match your warranty rate.

We have our Service Manager put them through. We use a parts invoice and put all the pertinent information on it and attach the original to it. Service Manager is very cooperative here. Lucky for us.

I WOULD GET THE GENERAL MANAGER INVOLVED IF YOUR SERVICE DEPT DOESNT WANT TO HELP YOU.
I HOPE YOU ONLY WARRANTIED 1 SHOCK AT A TIME. THEY DONT GO BAD IN PAIRS USUALLY

One one shock will be warranted, no matter how much the customer cries, it's the only one leaking. The secretary whom handles warranty is going to file the claim for me, she has a copy of the counter sale ticket from 2019, the indy shop repair order when it was originally installed in 2019 and recently replaced in 2022. Also gave her a copy of the counter ticket where I billed the indy shop for the replacement and credited it back when I received the defect.
It's good to have friends in the accounting office, and bringing in homemade goods, all scratch made from my kitchen does not hurt either.
