I think all supersessions in CDK are done manually. You can use function PN to do or undo a part number change.

aceman221,
go to function PMU
scroll down to MODIFY FIELD MAP BY MAP
select each field map you want to change (one at a time)
go to PART NUMBER CHANGE (it should be on page 2)
go to PART NUMBER CHANGE
make sure MASTER FIELD and ALLOW CLEARING fields are blank
that should solve your problem
(the automatic PNC occurs during the price update)

Good Luck,

You do have the option to do ‘Delay’ part number changes.
It’s turned on in Source Setups.

If you have an OH of a number that the price tape shows a new number, when the price tape updates, with delay PNC turned on, your OH will stay with the ‘old number’. This helps when there are price changes between supersessions.

When Month End runs, if the OH of the ‘old’ number goes to zero, the system will automatically force the supersession.

One benefit of leaving the PNC on is that when you input a number that the price tape contains a supersession is that both the old and new number will be added to your system with the supersession and you will be ordering the most recent number.

Another benefit is that when returns are input, the actual number on the original packaging will be what you will be returning. If it was ordered through RIM, it’ll still be covered.

If it was Special Ordered, you’ve got 365 days from the date the PNC took effect to return.
I use the default CDK sourcing, and when a PNC is recognized on the price tape, the part gets updated to SOURCE 100 where ‘old’ numbers get dumped. Run report of Source 100 with OH to monitor aging supersessions.

I have been wondering if it would automatically do PNCs for years. Why is it that you want it turned off?
