Hello,
We are an Infiniti dealer. We get a monthly report of all warranty claims paid which we can use to scrap our warranty parts. It is painstaking to check each part against the list, and I am hoping to streamline this process. I would very much like to hear how others are doing this.
Thanks.

GM does the same thing however a little more frequently. Our warranty clerk gives us the scrap RO's once or twice a week.
If you are a certified elite dealership you only have to hold your warranty parts 15 days before scrapping.

We are a GM certified elite dealer and I check the warranty schedule report weekly so I know what warranty parts I can scrap. 15 days after claim payment date so I am always scrapping parts once weekly to keep ahead of them.
I am not sure how long Infiniti requires you to hold your parts after claim payment date before scrapping however your warranty clerk or controller should be able to give you a warranty claims
paid schedule weekly so you don't have to let parts build up all month before scrapping. Your warranty clerk should also know the number of days the part has to be retained before scrapping.

I thought certified elite was 24 hours

I think you are correct..24 hours after the claim has been submitted. We were still holding for 15 days in case something came up...Zep33 wrote:I thought certified elite was 24 hours

Same exact reason here. You never know when GM would tell a certified elite dealer that parts must be retained 15 days after claimZep33 wrote:never a bad ideaPartsPlant81 wrote:I think you are correct..24 hours after the claim has been submitted. payment. They like to change the rules during the game.

I'm a Nissan dealer but I'd think you could do the same as I do. If you look in the reports in the "new" DCS find the service report for daily claim status. If you print that daily it will show you everything paid or suspended the previous day. Date the report and file it in order by day. 15 days later go get the first one and scrap whats on it. Same thing the next day and so forth. Doing it this way only takes a couple minutes every day or two and keeps you pretty clean.
Beware though of multiple jobs on the same RO. Make sure you know which one paid. I've seen where one job will pay but the other one (or ones) suspend.

Thanks to everyone. Especially lastminute (Nissan and Infiniti do work the same way).

The DBS with Nissan and Infiniti has for sure been a game changer for warranty scrap process. The 7 day window of holding parts an even bigger one.
