RANT HERE

Post by PartsDanager »

1) it's amazing how many times the locater will show someone having a part, while their own DMS does not. Unless other dealers just don't wanna do the SPAC, or have it for a customer. and aren't saying so.
2) It's even more amazing having dealers accept spac cases, just to see a cancel in the morning without a courtesy phone call.

Parts availability is bad, we have to help each other when we can.

I'll delete my rant tomorrow, just frustrated today.

In terms of improvements, I like the 'last receipt date' feature, but I'd love to see OEC be able to pull special order flags from DMSs. Seems like it should be achievable, no?

Rant Here

Post by Parts007 »

I wouldn't delete it, we'll just change the title to "Rant Here"

I ordered a cylinder head, which in the catalog, stated it contained camshafts, lash adjusters and misc., rocker arms and misc. and valves. It changed to a new number that cost $40 more and came with nothing but valves. I called Partech and they stated I should have checked engineering notes. Only place it stated was engineering notes.

So i guess i am supposed to check engineering notes on everything I sell??

What about the price tape errors lately? We just had one with a customer for a cargo mat, 84215433. DMS and OEC show the same cost and list, so we sold it at that. Our ADI billed us way higher and when we called for an adjustment, they said "check EPIC". Sure enough, EPIC was the only place that had the higher pricing listed, with cost being more than the list price we sold it at! Someone needs to get their head out of their ass at GM, and I hope it's sooner rather than later.

I'm young, but honestly, I can't for the life of me figure out why we have so many overlapping interwoven systems. We shouldn't need to open 4 web pages to get simple answers. And when things don't match up and there's an issue? yeah that's the purchaser's fault. Should've checked EPIC, or engineering notes, blah blah blah. Information age, everything at our fingertips, except only kinda, not really. My eyes can only roll so far back in my head some days.
