WARRANTY OIL CHANGE PRICING?

Post by Brasco »

How are you all billing your warranty oil changes? I'm talking about the first one how it is supposedly free. 5-6 quarts they only allow for $35, 8 quarts $50, baby diesel $75 and then $85 for the regular diesels, the 5-6 quart ones you lose money so how do you all bill it, aren't you just supposed to bill it at regular price and service close the ticket to policy? Thanks for any help

Thank you Denise that was actually very helpful. I'm just curious why we would ever have to sale for below cost for it, I just figured it got billed the alotted amount and the rest went to policy or something?

We bill out the parts at normal warranty rates, for us cost + 40%. Service bills the labor a bit differently. Then the overage amount is written off to policy and split between sales and service. After all service didn't give this away.

GM claims that the reimbursement will cover "cost" - not at our place.

Each dealer handles this differently.
