GM EPC User Interface

To all GM Dealers, how happy are you with the GM EPC user interface, the information you can access and do you have any suggestions for improvement?

Not sure of the legitimacy of this post but I’ll play along for the fun of it.

Number one request would be since GM is pushing so hard on one time use parts to do proper repairs. How about when you add the root part to a shopping list, have it automatically give you all the vin matched part numbers of the required nuts, bolts, seals, gaskets, lines etc. to do the job “correctly” that matches the single use parts on the SI documents.

Number two request when you’re in the illustrations and it says “See group such and such for detailed illustrated view” why not just make that a clickable link that would take us straight to that illustration?

Number three request: why not make the AC Delco all makes catalog more advanced to where it will decode the vin of a non-GM vehicle and tell what GM parts would interchange with it? Why is it easier to go to the Oreilly’s website to find out what the PF oil filter number an import takes rather than just use the catalog we have open all day every day.

Number four. I believe that Mopar and Ford possibly both have kits when DEF goes down the wrong hole and can be obtained by looking up and ordering one part number or very few part numbers. Not spending 20-30 mins in the catalog looking for every part that fuel goes through individually.

I could probably come up with other suggestions but I’ll start there.

Place all cables in the same group and strictly stick to identifying them based on the connection labels on the schematics in SI. It has gotten better, but there are still some with a description of "Body Chassis Cable to IP" or something generally bland and generic. Looking for X207 to X3. Also, list an LVDS as an LVDS.
Lastly, and I have heard about an upcoming update. But listing three part numbers for something with no verifiable differences and none of them change-ups/downs creates a lot of headache. You know what the car was built with, so please only list the relevant part or supercession applicable. (Thanks for putting in "labelled as")
