Online Appointments

Based on what I have seen, working with a lot of dealerships, many have an online system for setting appointments. However, not a lot of them are really effective - does anybody on here have thoughts on what the perfect online appointment process would look like?

I think the perfect online appointment systems should not ask for customer information up front-it should be the last thing that is asked for. Anytime I look at a website that asks me for my information before I can view their site, I just dont bother looking. These are my steps to the perfect online appointment and there are a few companies that do this well.
1- When do you want to bring your car in? Have the ability to view the appt schedule without personal info yet.
2-What works needs to be done, repair, maintenance or warranty. If maintenance is checked that should lead to a window with options and pricing for your vehicle.
3- If everythng is ok, confirm appointment
by asking for the personal info that is needed to schedule appointment.
4- Reminder should be sent to confirm appt 24 hours before.
5- Appts should be pushed back into DMS.
