MAINTANENCE PRICING

I need some input to how you price out your menu items such as 15k, 30k, etc...when I was with Nissan years ago,my menu's were priced out with a lower ELR than my regular shop work, which was also priced out utilizing grid pricing. I'm curious what everyone else is doing.

We have ten labor rates which vary according to the complexity of the service. The one we use for scheduled PM is right in the middle.

We use the "book times" for creating the canned estimates/jobs for each service.

We would like to use grid pricing, but our software does not support it at this time.

i base my maintenance on $65.00 using the dealer recommended schedule. it gives me an opportunity to get the customer in the door. (you could have called or walked across the parking lot and asked!!!!)

Westover makes a great point.

Whatever rate you use, start by quoting the OE schedule, then offer other optional services which you believe would be beneficial.

Today, many dealers start by quoting service packages that are 2 or 3 or even 4 times the OE schedule with tons of added on services which they imply are required. It's pretty easy to beat that type of misleading marketing.
