Some of this might depend on the make of vehicle you service, but one of my favorite ideas are salespeople in local malls and stores - especially clothing stores because they are accustomed to personal selling (and hopefully know how to look presentable).

I also like customer service reps. Whether this is the service counter at Target or a phone based support center. These people are used to taking abuse everyday, so they shouldn't faint under pressure. Most of these people are making $20K or less in some places. They might jump at the chance to make a living selling service.

Those are my two ideas.

I recently hired a new advisor here. I got him from a local used car dealer. I know a lot of aftermarket shops have service advisors. (the bigger ones anyway) That may be 1 place to look. And if all else fails, you can always use one of the "headhunters" but remember they charge for that service.

I agree with the other guys. Tire stores, other garages not dealers, try some good waitress and/or waiters I have hired a couple and they have been great. I use a head hunters when I am looking for a hound dog. Good Hunting.
