REPLACEMENT KEYS

I was wondering if any of you GM guys have ordered replacement keys on Bulletin G_0000198183. Part numbers 23234400, 23240428, and 23237275.
I'm wondering if or how they are billing us?

You get billed for them just like any other part.

I have thrown a few in stock, after all we are providing keys for the life of the vehicle. what about the keyrings?

We have ordered them and actually received some of them yesterday. We owe a few customers spare keys and those also came in.

Just got my first one for an employee vehicle. Do you know how to get reimbursed for the replacement keys? Our warranty rep never saw or heard about free replacement keys for life and she called the DBC and they never heard anything either. I remember reading a message in Global about this but I don't think it said how to get reimbursed for extra or replacement keys. Thanks in advance for your help.

Statement about free keys for the life of the vehicle is on page 2 of all 3 campaigns-13454,14063,14092. And what suprised you that GM people didn't know this ?

The information about the free replacement keys is in Bulletin #14133C.

The 3rd bullet in the service procedure states:

"Any additional keys can be obtained free of charge from a GM dealer. Customers will receive a follow-up communication with details. Please note: Additional key will be made available once initial recall demands are met."

Got this from my DMA last week

Parts & Service Managers,



There has been some confusion surrounding Recall 14063B where we said that “GM will provide replacement keys for your vehicle free of charge for the life of the vehicle.”



“Replacement Keys” means that if the customer has an issue with one of the 2 keys that they were provided when the recall was completed, then a replacement will be provided at no charge for the life of the vehicle.



If the customer had the recall completed and that customer brought in let’s say 4 keys that they are surrendering, then you would provide that customer with the 2 additional keys at no charge.



However, if the customer only surrendered 2 keys and now wants additional keys, those are Customer Pay.

That all sounds great but the replacement keys were only available starting last week. What happens to my employee that surrendered 3 keys 3 months ago?
