Parts & Service Managers,
There has been some confusion surrounding Recall 14063B where we said that “GM will provide replacement keys for your vehicle free of charge for the life of the vehicle.”
“Replacement Keys” means that if the customer has an issue with one of the 2 keys that they were provided when the recall was completed, then a replacement will be provided at no charge for the life of the vehicle.
If the customer had the recall completed and that customer brought in let’s say 4 keys that they are surrendering, then you would provide that customer with the 2 additional keys at no charge.
However, if the customer only surrendered 2 keys and now wants additional keys, those are Customer Pay.
