We got this email from our GM DSM this afternoon.Subject: VERY IMPORTANT INFO RECALL 14116
Many dealers have called me regarding the failure of the torque sensor when completing this recall.
We have identified that ALL of the torque sensors returned to GM have been GOOD sensors.
Field Engineers have been dispatched to local dealers to investigate and it has been identified that the failure has been a result of IMPROPER INSTALLATION PROCEDURES by the technician.
Make sure they follow the installation procedures to the T per the bulletin. There is also a video available for proper installations. This video will also soon be loaded to the GM Training Website.
DO NOT REPLACE ANY MODULES AT THIS TIME.
